Buy or Sell? Will the Betting Market Tank?
What can startups do to weather the storm and what this means for investors
We are in the midst of a market correction. When investing or starting a company, this can be a make it or break it moment. Unfortunately for most, this is a break it moment. However, can the sports betting market push through and produce true innovation?
Diamond in the rough… In a time like this, most startups find themselves in a tough spot. Raising capital becomes much harder, investors take less risks, valuations dip. So what will this breed? Diamonds in the rough. The obvious investments are ones that have positive KPI’s and are generating revenue, but this is also a huge moment for VC’s to shine. At low valuations, many companies are doing all they can to raise the proper funds in preparation for an even worse dip in the market. This is when you start to see the best real companies emerge and the fake fade away.
What will happen to the betting industry? Nothing. People bet and they will continue to do so. Sports is thriving. These things are for certain. So with that being said, the answer is obvious. The gaming industry will survive this storm and those daring enough to tap in will be rewarded on the flip side.
What can a startup founder do with this information? This is as good a time as ever to show investors why your startup is built to withstand a possible recession. It is time for the product to speak for itself.
Here are a few ways to stand out without revenue:
